About Top Set Timer

Top Set Timer is a flexible workout timer with one job: keeping your rest and intervals on track so you can focus on training.

Unlike most HIIT timers that force fixed work and rest blocks, Top Set Timer is built for real strength sessions where sets take as long as they take. Finish your set, rack the bar, then tap once to start your rest. When the timer goes off, you’re ready for the next set.

Three Training Modes

Rest Mode

Start the timer only when you finish a set—ideal for longer 2 to 5 minute strength rests or any self-paced work. Perfect for barbell programs and powerlifting.

HIIT Mode

Runs repeated work and rest intervals for conditioning and finishers. Great for circuit training and metabolic conditioning.

EMOM Mode

Every minute on the minute (or any interval you choose) locked in for focused training blocks. Keeps you honest and moving.

Use Cases

  • Barbell strength programs
  • Powerlifting sessions
  • Bodyweight and calisthenics workouts
  • Sprints and hill runs
  • Conditioning blocks in the gym

Why I Built This

Most workout timers assume you know exactly how long each set will take. But real strength training doesn’t work that way—a heavy set of squats might take 20 seconds or 45 seconds depending on the day. What matters is the rest after the set.

Top Set Timer keeps your rest honest and your intervals consistent so you can train harder, recover better, and stop staring at the clock.
