About Gene2Rx for iOS
Gene2Rx for iOS is the companion app for the Gene2Rx pharmacogenetics service. It puts your personalized drug-response report on your phone and wraps it in a daily medication tracker that is aware of your genetics.
Sign in with your Gene2Rx account to sync your genetic results, then add the medications you take. The app connects the two—flagging potential gene-drug interactions, showing CPIC-based guidance for each drug, and helping you have more informed conversations with your doctor.
Beyond the report, Gene2Rx for iOS is a full health tracking app. Log doses, symptoms, and mood every day and use the Trends tab to see how everything correlates over time.
Features
My DNA Report
View your full pharmacogenomics report on your phone. See your genotypes, star alleles, predicted phenotypes, and activity scores for 23+ pharmacogenes including CYP2D6, CYP2C19, CYP2C9, SLCO1B1, DPYD, TPMT, and more.
Each drug entry includes CPIC guideline-based recommendations, plain-language explanations, and direct links to primary sources.
PGx-Aware Medication Tracking
Add your medications and immediately see how your genetics may affect your response. The app matches each drug against your gene results using CPIC guidelines and flags interactions ranging from minor considerations to absolute contraindications.
Drug-Drug Interaction Checking
Beyond gene-drug interactions, the app checks for drug-drug interactions between your active medications. It also performs phenoconversion calculations—if you are taking a strong CYP2D6 inhibitor, for example, the app adjusts your predicted phenotype accordingly.
Daily Health Logging
- Dose tracking — Mark each dose as taken, missed, or skipped
- Symptom logging — Record symptoms with severity and link them to specific medications
- Mood and energy tracking — Daily mood and energy ratings to spot patterns

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Gene2Rx account? You can use the medication tracker, symptom logger, and mood tracker without an account. To view your pharmacogenomics report and get PGx-aware drug guidance, sign in with your Gene2Rx account at gene2rx.com.
How do I get a Gene2Rx report? Visit gene2rx.com, upload your raw genotype data from 23andMe, AncestryDNA, or MyHeritage, and purchase a report. Your results will then be available in the iOS app.
What medications are covered? Gene2Rx covers over 100 medications across 31 drug classes, including antidepressants, antipsychotics, pain medications, statins, anticonvulsants, and more.
Is my genetic data stored on my phone? Yes. Once synced, your gene results are stored locally on your device so you can access your report offline.
Can I share my report with my doctor? Yes. Gene2Rx Pro includes export options to generate a PDF or CSV of your report and tracking data that you can share with your healthcare provider.
Is my data backed up? Genetic results can be re-synced from your Gene2Rx account at any time. Medication tracking data, symptom logs, and mood entries are stored locally and are not backed up to the cloud.
Troubleshooting
Genetic results not loading? Make sure you are signed in with the same email you used on gene2rx.com. Check your internet connection and try pulling down to refresh. If results still do not appear, your report may not be ready yet—check your email for a confirmation from Gene2Rx.
Drug interactions not showing? Interaction alerts require both an active Gene2Rx report and at least one medication added to the app. Make sure your gene results have synced successfully.
App crashing or freezing? Try closing and reopening the app. If the problem persists, try deleting and reinstalling. Your genetic results will re-sync from your account, but local tracking data (doses, symptoms, mood) will be lost.
